As most of you know, our family has been navigating through some challenges over the past couple of months - My wife's car accident and the loss of my Grandma were both tough on us all; without getting into any details, we've now hit another snag which we need to overcome and I just felt the need to reach out to you all in the hopes that some good thoughts + energy from y'all can get us over this next hill. I've reached the last plateau before the summit... I've reached the last plateau before the summit... and I'm in need of a change of scenery and a challenge. a new view. or a new set of eyes to see through... One way or another, I'll have a new record to cut soon, but after conversations with myself and some industry folks I hold in high regard, I'm in in a state of flux and I'm a few songs short of where I want to be. I've got a gumbo of different styles - something that has blessed/plagued me for a dozen years or so - and I need to decide what the hell I'm doing. I can't do this from the Song Shelter (aka my home). I gotta get outta here. I need to get remote for a few days. Does anybody near me have a space I could borrow with very limited distractions nearby? a cabin a room with a view a tree house...? I dunno. Basically a place to hunker down and write and write and write. I've got some good songs ready to go, but I know there's more to say.
